Pokemon Card Grading ROI Calculator

Pulls live TCGPlayer market prices for any Pokemon card and estimates whether grading it with PSA, BGS, or CGC is actually worth the fee. Free, no signup needed.

How the calculator works

  1. We query pokemontcg.io for your card's current TCGPlayer market price (raw).
  2. We apply typical PSA 9 and PSA 10 price multiples based on the card's expected grade tier.
  3. We subtract the grading fee (default $25) and show you the estimated profit if you actually hit PSA 10.

Multiples are rough averages — real comps vary wildly by card. Always sanity-check against eBay sold listings for your specific card.

When is grading NOT worth it?

  • Raw price under ~$15 — grading fees swallow the upside
  • Card has visible edge wear, surface scratches, or off-center printing
  • You're targeting a PSA 10 but the card looks like a PSA 8 or 9
  • Bulk commons and energy cards — almost never break even

Skip the guesswork — let the AI pre-grade it

The ROI calculator tells you if the card is worth grading at a given grade. Our free AI pre-grading tool tells you what grade you're likely to get. Combine both to make a confident decision before spending $25+ per submission.

Typical PSA grade multiples (rough averages)

Expected raw conditionPSA 9 multiplePSA 10 multiple
Near-mint / gem (9+ likely)~2.5×~8×
Excellent (7–8 likely)~2×~5×
Played / damaged (6 or less)~1.5×~3×

Vintage and ultra-rare cards blow these multiples out of the water — a 1999 Base Set Charizard can jump 20–40× from raw to PSA 10. Modern commons stay flat.
